What you are actually downloading
The developer name on the App Store listing is betr Entertainment Aus Pty Ltd, the operating entity behind betr.com.au, sitting under betr Entertainment Limited (ASX: BBT) and licensed by the Tasmanian Liquor and Gaming Commission. Worth checking, because that developer line is the fastest way to tell a real bookmaker’s app from a copycat.
At 133 MB it is a heavy install by betting-app standards, which is what bundling video streaming costs you, and the iOS 16.1 floor rules out anything older than an iPhone 8. The 4.6 average comes off roughly 23,000 ratings, which is enough volume that a handful of angry reviews cannot shift it.

Android: the BlueBet fingerprint that never went away
Open the Google Play listing and check the URL: the package identifier is au.com.bluebet, not anything containing “betr”. That is not an error. betr merged with BlueBet in July 2024 and rebranded the consumer product on 14 August 2024, but the technology underneath stayed BlueBet’s build. Renaming an Android package costs you every install and every review, so operators almost never do it.
It changes nothing about how the app behaves. Know it only so a listing called “betr” under a package called “bluebet” reads as the real thing rather than a clone.
One number we are deliberately not giving you: the Google Play rating. The sources we checked contradict each other, betr does not publish it, and we are not prepared to invent a figure to fill a row in a table. Check the listing yourself on the day you install.
Before you search for a “betr app APK”
“betr app apk” is a high-volume search, and the results are almost entirely third-party file-hosting sites with no connection to the operator. A betting app holds your login, your payment methods and, in practice, access to your money. A repackaged APK can be modified before it reaches you. Racing Live Tracker
The cleverest thing betr has built. Once a bet is on, a live tracker appears on your lock screen and home screen, so you follow the money without opening the app. It works on Fixed Win, Fixed Place and Tote Single bets, applies to Australian and New Zealand thoroughbred races only, and appears roughly ten minutes before the jump. Those three limits are real: greyhound and harness punters miss out entirely.
Blackbook
Add a horse, greyhound or trotter to your Blackbook and betr texts you when it is next racing. A watchlist with an SMS attached. It is what a form-following punter actually wants, and most apps bury the same thing behind a notification centre nobody checks. Despite the “Blackbook AI” branding on betr’s own banners, no AI layer is described anywhere: treat it as a smart watchlist.
Wildcards, StatWars and the multi builders
Wildcards let you activate or change a Same Game Multi while an AFL match is in progress. The feature launched during the AFL Wildcard Round and now runs across all AFL fixtures. StatWars puts two players head to head on official league statistics for AFL, NBA and NFL. That spread looks like a contradiction and isn’t. The two sets of scores measure different things.
App Store ratings are collected in-app, usually prompted after a session that went fine, and they measure whether the software works: does it load, does the stream play, does the bet slip behave. betr earns its 4.6 on that question, and our own 4.5 reflects the same thing.
Trustpilot (1.8 / 5 from 26 reviews, 92% of them one star) and ProductReview.com.au (1.2 / 5 from 71 reviews) capture the opposite moment: someone who has already had a problem and gone looking for somewhere to write about it. The recurring themes are withdrawal delays and document requests arriving only at payout time, accounts restricted straight after a win, voided winning bets, and support tickets going unanswered for weeks. Those are not app complaints; they are account and payout complaints, and the app rating cannot see them.
One app-specific grievance does show up there, and it deserves naming: bets users say vanished from the app between placement and settlement.
